Meditation Under The Stars
Join us for our monthly Meditation Under The Stars in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Together we’ll sit under the stars and connect with our true nature of infinite peace and unconditional love, at the beautiful Deer Creek Hill Country Retreat in Dripping Springs. Our gatherings will be held within the dark phase of the month to align with a more inward meditative focus, and for optimal star viewing in this tranquil dark sky community.
Thank you so much! That was such lovely, beautifully guided meditation. The perfect balance of embodiment and spiritual release. Filled me with so much freedom and peace! ~ Sunny, October 2025

Gathering together in the limestone grotto nestled under the cedars and live oaks, we’ll start at 7pm with a welcome and brief introduction. Sitting comfortably on our meditation cushions or blankets, we’ll first anchor into our heart space, dropping all attention from our head into our heart. I’ll then guide us in a 9-round breathing technique to calm and concentrate our minds, followed by a calm-abiding and consciousness-expanding meditation called Meditation Like The Sky. In this state of calm expansiveness, we’ll sit in silent meditation for 20 – 30 minutes. Afterwards we’ll dedicate the merit of our meditation for the benefit of all sentient beings, concluding our session with a loving kindness meditation. For the final half hour (from 8 – 8:30pm) there’ll be an optional group share, with opportunities to ask questions about your own meditation practice too. If you’d prefer to maintain your inner and outer silence, you’re welcome to enjoy a meditative star-lit wander through the property, or help yourself to some herbal tea in the tiny house while you journal.

This 9-Round Breathing Technique and Meditation Like The Sky, was originally taught by the Buddha as a powerful and effective technique to calm and concentrate the mind, and then abide in that calmness so that you may experience your natural state of being, as Clear Light Mind. I’ll be sharing this technique with you as it was taught to me by Antonio Pascual, in the Himalayan Buddhist Meditation Centre, Kathmandu Nepal. It was passed down to him through an ancient lineage of Tibetan Buddhist lamas, culminating in his teachers Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, in Kopan Monastery, Kathmandu Nepal. I offer this meditation guidance with much gratitude to my esteemed teachers.

Meditation is the practice of experiencing who we truly are at the most fundamental and absolute level – Consciousness. When we meditate, we rest our attention on that which is beyond the temporal and relative truth of our body, thoughts and emotions, and experience the spacious, eternal nature of our being, unified with all life. ~ Brenda Ryan
My Meditation Journey

In 2009 I gave up my job, my apartment and life as I knew it in Ireland, threw on a backpack, and ventured East to seek truth and find meaning. I was 28, about to turn 29, and I just knew there was “something more” – a supreme truth to life that I yearned to directly experience. I travelled solo for the year, living in Kathmandu for 5 months, exploring the high Himalayan lands of Ladakh just west of Tibet for 3 months, and finished my journey on the hot humid plains of Calcutta, in Mother India.
In my quest to seek and find truth, I immersed myself in Buddhism and received life-changing Dharma teachings from a lineage of high Tibetan Lamas. I meditated many long hours in Tibetan Buddhist gompas (temples) and Theravada Buddhist meditation centers in Nepal and India. I practiced Yoga and was initiated into Reiki and Pranic healing. I trekked through the highest mountains in the world; stayed with Ladakhi nuns in the Himalayas; attended the teachings of the Dalai Lama; and meditated for many many more hours in a Himalayan meditation cell on the borders of Tibet. It felt like the education I truly yearned for, beyond the academic world. The education of inner freedom. The education of the heart.
I’m writing a book based on this profound 2009 truth-seeking journey and I can’t wait to share it with you. Visit my Truth Book webpage to learn more.

Guided Meditations
Deepen Into Presence with Eckhart Tolle
“Our minds are constantly at work, going over the same habitual thoughts again and again. The experience for most of us in any given moment is that we are stuck in our heads, disconnected from our bodies, and living one step removed from our immediate situation. Meditation is a method for synchronizing body and mind in the present moment. When the body and mind are in sync, we are naturally relaxed, alert, open, and aware, and we experience ourselves and the world in a direct, unmediated way, without conceptual filters. It is this direct experience of the fullness, vitality, and splendor of life that is the gift of meditation.” – Eckhart Tolle Now
Whenever you step out of the noise of thinking, that is meditation, and a different state of consciousness arises.
Eckhart Tolle
